ABOUT

Born and raised in NYC, Rebecca McCartney is a vocal powerhouse who writes mellow, jazzy, emotional indie music. Known for her reflective, endearing lyrics and magnetic live performances, McCartney has released two solo EPs and regularly gathers audiences of 200+ at her NYC shows. Rebecca’s songs burst with life even in their softest moments, always shining with velvety vocals and biting emotion. Her jazzy, buttery vocals pair with layers of vocal harmonies and acoustic instrumentation to build into a riveting sound world. Think Norah Jones meets Maggie Rogers meets Lianne La Havas.

Rebecca McCartney has recorded all of her solo work at John Leventhal's (Shawn Colvin, David Crosby, Rosanne Cash) New York recording studio NY Noise, with Jakob Leventhal (Weezer, Rodney Crowell) producing and engineering. As a performing musician, McCartney has headlined NY venues in the 300-500 cap range, and opened for NYC folk powerhouses Bailen, and shared festival bills with Tank and the Bangas and Duckwrth. Songs from her debut EP, "How You Feel," have landed placements in 3 short films and 2 documentaries.
